General Description of Position:

 

Performs site surveys to determine RF requirements and equipment needs for new WiFi installations.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Read, understands, interprets and applies written instructions, such as equipment manuals in the design of new WiFi installations.
  • Works with the sales force to determine customer needs on new WiFi installations.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of WiFi principles and fundamentals.
  • Researches new technologies and strategies for implementing them into the company.
  • Recommends new technologies and strategies for implementing them into the company.
  • Supplies sales force with realistic cost estimates of new WiFi installations.
  • Works with operations when needed to assure optimum system performance of the WiFi networks.
  • Submits personal time report, gas tickets, material charge-outs, as well as other clerical forms or other required paperwork to manager in a timely manner.
  • Travels to sites as necessary via Company vehicle, complying with traffic laws, safety rules, regulations, and practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the effective operation of the department.
  • Supplies manager with a weekly report of all activities.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in WiFi, IP Routing and firewall policy implementation
  • Good interpersonal skills are a necessity.
  • Must have basic IP routing/data networking skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers and communication hardware/software.
  • Reads understand, interprets and applies written instructions, such as equipment manuals in the design of new WiFi installations.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a history of safe driving record.
  • Must be able to work various schedules and able to work extended hours.
  • Understands network cabling, and can perform basic cable troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of antennas and RF propagation as they relate to WiFi installations.

 

Additional Qualifications Desired:

 

  • Ability to determine from a site survey RF design requirements and necessary equipment for new WiFi installations.
  • Understanding of different types of WiFi and backhaul solutions.
  • Understanding of CDMA technology.
