General Description of Position:


The individual in this position will provide innovative and driven leadership while building a high-performing team to deliver results that help drive revenue, growth plans and initiatives, control expenses, improve the company’s service to customers, and enhance operational efficiencies.  This position has responsibility for many operational components of the business; principal of which is the overall management and direction of new residential and commercial market construction, the continued growth and fill-in of existing metro-fiber markets, and the construction activities necessary to successfully connect customers to our network. 


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Hire, develop, and maintain a great team of managers and colleagues in order that we build, grow, and appropriately scale our fiber network construction capabilities
  • Set the example of good leadership, which fosters trust, integrity, open communications and motivation while enhancing a culture of congeniality and collegiality
  • Confidently and passionately direct the activities and functions of operations groups that may include but are not limited to outside plant personnel and their colleagues to ensure the high availability and reliability of the Hargray network, products, and services
  • Lead and assist in the evaluation, planning, and execution of new and existing market development initiatives
  • Promote and facilitate effective and open communication between departments and ensure that information, company goals and performance objectives are transferred in a timely manner to all levels
  • Partner with executive staff and management on project initiation, execution, and delivery in order to meet business objectives, quality, budgetary, and technical requirements and AS importantly our customers’ needs
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to oversee and direct operational activities necessary to deliver, service, and repair existing and new products and actively participate in the creation and development of new product and revenue initiatives
  • Prepare and manage capital and expense budget and forecast activities and inputs and performance results
  • Develop, review, and analyze key performance metrics in order to achieve company goals and objectives for service quality and network performance
  • Develop, review and modify business processes and procedures, to improve efficiency and optimize our expense structure 
  • Evaluate training needs for personnel so that they can meet or exceed company goals and allocate time and resources necessary to facilitate training
  • Rely on extensive experience and sound judgment to accomplish goals and resolve complex situations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the effective operation of the department


Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:


  • 4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years telecommunications or related experience and 10+ years supervisory experience in related field
  • Technical background in communications and networking desired
  • P&L management experience
  • Experience in managing capital budgets and projects
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of budget administration, practices, and accounting
  • Relevant experience in dealing with public relations and human resource issues
  • Ability to comprehend new technologies quickly
  • Must possess strong communications skills, both verbal and written
  • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft MS-Office software suite with particular emphasis on Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Solid management skills are a must including the ability to deal with change, stress and conflict, along with coaching and mentoring subordinates
  • Ability to work long hours as required and deal well with stress
  • Strong team player with the ability to persuade, influence, and negotiate partnerships with internal and external customers
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documentation and procedures
  • Must be able to collect, manipulate, and distribute data for effective root cause analysis
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects as well as leading cross-departmental initiatives
