General Description of Position:

The Supervisor of OSP Design is responsible for providing the highest level of network reliability through on-time engineering and design of new and existing market OSP HFC and fiber systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs daily review of design to ensure it meets Hargray standards.
  • Performs quality control assessment of all OSP designs.
  • Performs skills assessment of assigned Design Engineers.
  • Initiates and directs plans to motivate Design Engineers to achieve goals, strive for maximum efficiency and to go beyond what is expected.
  • Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, disciplinary measures, pay increases, etc.
  • Responsible for timely performance evaluation of employees based upon measurable objective criteria.
  • Responsible for training and development of Design Engineers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of the department and the Company.


Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum 4 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry installing, repairing and maintaining outside plant facilities.
  • Team leader or supervisor experience directly related to OSP Design.
  • Must be familiar with the IOM requirements to support triple play across copper, HFC, and Fiber to the Home infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of Hargray’s HES system (preferred but not required).
  • Must possess a working knowledge of CADD software and Bentley experience is preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to navigate Salesforce for the purpose of tracking Service Orders, Trouble Tickets, and Facility Records.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Working knowledge of RUS and NEC codes as they apply to the outside plant design and engineering.
