General Description of Position:


Dedicated accounting resource for new market expansions, acquisitions and maintaining revenue accounting for BAU/current markets. Perform revenue accounting tasks related to monthly close, prepare and analyze revenue/units, revenue reports and audit schedules. Build a strong business partnership with residential and commercial business owners to assist with revenue reports and analysis.

We are open to considering remote candidates or hiring the right talent in any of Hargray markets - South Carolina: Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, Beaufort. Georgia: Savannah, Peachtree Corners, Pell City. Florida: Jacksonville, Tallahassee. Candidate should be willing to travel to Hilton Head Island, SC as needed.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Prepares monthly journal entries.
  • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis to ensure data integrity and accuracy of monthly reports.
  • Maintains supporting documentation for monthly journal entries and accrual/reserve balances.
  • Performs monthly variance analysis ensuring the accuracy in the financial results.
  • Establish and maintain reports in DW to pull the information needed for revenue reporting and analysis.
  • Compiles and analyzes revenue and units/statistical information needed for month end revenue variance analysis.
  • Calculates monthly, quarterly, and annual franchise fees and EMA payments.
  • Supports Strategic Initiatives Accountant with revenue mapping for new acquisitions
  • Prepare and maintain support for audit and reconciliation schedules timely and accurately for the interim and annual audit by independent certified public accountants. Provide support for audit schedules to the auditors.
  • Maintains current knowledge of sound accounting procedures and utilizes Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Serve as backup for Revenue Accountant 1.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Five-plus years’ experience in General accounting, General Ledger month-end close, preparation of revenue reports, revenue account analysis, interim and year end audit schedules and account reconciliations.
  • Ability to perform detailed variance analysis during month-end close.
  • Experienced with data extraction from a data warehouse or proficiency with Microsoft Access.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and meet tight month end close and revenue reporting deadlines with the highest degree of accuracy.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge such as pivot tables, and V Lookups strongly preferred, experienced with integrated accounting/reporting systems.
  • Requires discretion regarding sensitive company information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers, directors and senior management.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with little direction and great detail for accuracy within tight deadlines
  • Must have ability to work independently as well as with others, have strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Available to work overtime as needed.



Additional Qualifications Desired:


  • Knowledge of telecom and/or cable systems
  • Knowledge of Part 32 accounting a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office beneficial.
  • Experience with EPICOR beneficial.
  • Experience with Billing systems beneficial.
