General Description of Position:

Serves as the overall project manager for complex IT projects in support of Managed services customers or sales engineering tasks to onboard new clients. Under the guidance of the DCMS Director, responsible for the overall management of the specific projects and ensuring that the technical solutions and schedules are implemented according to plan and schedule.  Performs as a player /coach in the development of conceptual systems requirements, systems integration requirements; systems phasing plan; business application consultation; problem tracking/management; and preparation and delivery of presentations.

Will employ project management principles and best practices to infrastructure projects, legacy system sustainment projects, new development programs and special projects. Each type of project has different program and project level review processes. The projects are reviewed in a weekly meeting with Project systems engineers responsible for updating and presenting accomplishments, next steps, change requests, help desk tickets, and assistance needed.

Provide project management services in support of IT business objectives and ongoing operations. This includes systems and project planning, estimating, execution, implementation, and ongoing IT support. The ITPM is required to assist and provide direct support to Project systems engineers (SEs) within DCMS. Provide the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received. May conduct performance/project analyses during phase-down to benefit future/other projects/missions/programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of a project management plan to identify activities, events and documentation key for project execution.
  • Maintaining an integrated master schedule which accounts for all assigned project activities.
  • Researching cost information to assist with the development of cost estimates and project budgets.
  • Participate in the development of required programmatic documentations.
  • Executing specific project activities as required
  • Tracking risks and opportunities within the assigned project(s), including development and implementation of mitigation plans.
  • Ability to deploy, maintain and support IT systems including servers, switching equipment, and peripherals.
  • Provide pre-sale engineering support for complex, technical and integrated solutions
  • Work closely with customers and vendors to ensure best practices solutions
  • Provide help and service desk support in the analysis and management of open service tickets
  • Problem management and trend analysis.  Determine root cause and lead permanent fix to chronic or unique problems


Job Requirements


Minimum Qualifications:


  • US Citizenship required
  • Project management background
  • PMP certification preferred
  • ITIL Version 3 expertise, certification preferred
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience working in a technical environment including SANs, VM, Microsoft exchange, Office 365, or similar
  • Knowledge of various technologies, including networking, hardware, software, peripherals, network application and security
  • Working knowledge of installing, configuring and administering a broad range of technologies
  • Excellent organization, time management and follow through skills, including the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Refine and establish standard processes for replicable tasks across the project domain, including checklists and both internal and external communication plans
  • Strong customer service skills
