Job Title: Manager, Strategic Community and Development Relations

General Description of Position:

The Manager of Strategic Community and Development Relations is responsible for growing market share, driving customer acquisition, and reducing churn in our strategic fiber overlay communities by managing relationships with property owners, developers and associations, governmental agencies and other utility companies pertaining to exiting and/or future telecommunication needs. Manage existing relationships to produce additional revenue opportunities and maintain existing revenue base.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Grows market share in specific communities through successful development and execution of sales and retention plans.
  • Develop and present plans and negotiate contracts for providing telecommunications services to single family home communities.
  • Point of contact for all negotiated contracts.
  • Seek new business and upgrades with new and existing customers through building excellent relationships.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with existing Property and Home Owner Associations (POA’s & HOA’s).
  • Maintains contacts with all parties to foster effective customer relationships.
  • Provide guidance and support to Marketing for the development of the sales and marketing strategy designed to foster relationships with developments and POA’s.
  • Assists in developing advertising and product information, such as billboards, websites, and printed material.
  • Track, monitor and analyze service penetration levels for all communities; develop action plans where needed.
  • Provide support and planning for hosting community events with properties.
  • Conduct community surveys by coordinating with property managers to get feedback from residents.
  • Serve as a Hargray Liaison for community GM/Property Managers and residents.
  • Work closely with Chamber of Commerce and represent Hargray at local functions.
  • Attend Board of Director meetings for communities for existing EMA’s and future EMAs.
  • Form working relationship with Municipalities to include Mayors and Council members.
  • Facilitate intracompany coordination (sales, installation, repair, and engineering) for resolution of customer problems.
  • Handle a wide variety of customer support, including resolving billing issues, managing customer inquiries, customer turn-up, and general customer satisfaction and relations.
  • Work with sales management, product management, IT, regulatory, corporate marketing, and other inter-departmental stakeholders, by managing resources and timeframes required to support end user customers, POA’s, and developers.
  • Coaches and trains team members who will be assisting in community outreach and sales efforts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of Company.



Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of telecommunications sales required.
  • Telecommunications industry experience required.
  • Possess technical, financial, and organizational skills required to respond to RFPs and other technical request from developers.
  • Strong relationship building skills and business acumen required including responsiveness and technical understanding of customers' present and future needs.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
