General Description of Position:


Installation service, maintenance, repair, and programming of multi-line TDM/IP based, business voice and computing systems, including key, Hosted and traditional PBX systems, and IP telephony systems. Provide troubleshooting expertise by interfacing with multiple technical staff members and vendors to resolve complex issues. 


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for deploying, maintaining, and supporting VOIP systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve highly complex customer telecommunication system problems.
  • Visit customer site and install, repair and maintains all types of IP telephony systems, including adds, moves, and changes of installed telephone services
  • Proficiently use, all test equipment related to this position for both fiber and copper-based systems
  • Ability to work in conjunction with other departments for installs, provisioning repair and perform other maintenance duties as necessary. Also, should have the ability to read records and maps, including billing and central office circuit designs.
  • Provide technical expertise to the Help Desk and Installation and Repair teams regarding telecommunication problems.
  • Develop written statements of work for VOIP installations.
  • Assist the sales team as a technical resource when VOIP demonstrations are needed and/or site assessments.
  • Develop Client system documentation.
  • Benchmark, analyze, and make recommendations for the improvement of customer VOIP systems.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise regarding the latest technologies.
  • Actively participates in Call Triage Team.
  • Provide helpdesk support including analyzing and resolving end-user issues.


Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 4 or more years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with Remote Monitoring and Management Tools (RMM).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects as well as leading departmental initiatives.
  • Knowledge of basic switching and routing equipment and protocols
  • Knowledge of Basic Ethernet
  • Knowledge of IP addressing scheme, subnetting and how to assign/deploy
  • Knowledge of telecommunications equipment operations and maintenance and installation
  • Knowledge of key, PBX, and IP telephony systems/equipment and concepts
  • Knowledge of various technologies, including networking, hardware, software, peripherals, network applications, and security.
  • Experience with installing, configuring, and administering a broad range of technologies.
  • Proven technical troubleshooting skills and logical problem-solving.
  • Excellent organization, time management and follow up skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient use of computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite.
