General Description of Position:

Responsible for all of Hargray’s legal functions including corporate legal (e.g., corporate and partnership agreements, credit facility, tax, equity compensation), operational legal (e.g., contracts for the business such as real estate, vendors, RFPs, franchises, and licenses), litigation, employment law, insurance/risk management, and corporate development legal (e.g., M&A, strategic partnerships) including managing outside law firms.  Should have experience with federal telecommunications regulatory and compliance matters.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Law degree with high academic achievement from a national law school
  • Juris Doctor degree and admittance to the appropriate state bar(s)
  • Active member in good standing of the Bar
  • 8-10 years of corporate transactional and mergers and acquisitions experience, preferably with experience in telecommunications, including experience drafting and negotiating transactions
  • Experience negotiating and documenting a broad range of transactions and contractual relationships, preferably those involving telecommunications services, construction services, supply chain issues, and technology development and transfer
  • Ability to successfully manage other attorneys and supervise support staff
  • Ability to manage outside legal resources in a cost-effective manner
  • Ability to direct the legal strategy of a corporation
  • Strong management, leadership and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with all levels of management and outside contacts
  • Strong business and financial acumen with detailed analytical and problem-solving skills
