Job Description

The individual in this position will provide innovative and driven leadership in a manner that brings teams together to deliver results that help drive revenue and growth initiatives, control expenses, improve the company’s service to customers and enhance operational efficiencies.  This position has responsibility for many operational components of the business primarily which include outside plant activities.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and maintain a solid team of managers and organizational leaders 
  • Provide a positive example of good leadership, which fosters trust, integrity, open communications and motivation while enhancing a culture of congeniality and collegiality
  • Direct activities and functions of operations groups that may include but are not limited to outside plant and staff to ensure the high availability and reliability of Hargray’s networks, products, and services
  • The individual in this position may also be called upon to lead or assist in the efforts necessary to evaluate, plan and execute new market development initiatives
  • Promote and facilitate effective and open communication between departments and ensure that information, company goals and performance objectives are transferred in a timely manner to all levels
  • Partner with the executive staff and other members of management on project initiation, execution and delivery in order to meet business objectives, quality, budgetary and technical requirements as well as meeting customers’ needs
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to oversee and direct operational activities necessary to deliver, service and repair existing and new products and actively participate in the creation and development of new product and revenue initiatives
  • Prepare and monitor capital and expense budget and forecast inputs and performance 
  • Develop, review and analyze key performance metrics in order to achieve company goals and objectives for service quality and network performance
  • Review and modify business processes and procedures, to improve efficiency and reduce expense 
  • Evaluate training needs for personnel so that they can meet or exceed company goals and allocate time and resources necessary to facilitate training
  • Rely on extensive experience and sound judgment to accomplish goals and resolve complex situations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of the department

 

Job Requirements

 

Qualifications & Minimum Requirements:

 

  • 4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years telecommunications or related experience and 10+ years supervisory experience in related field
  • Technical background in communications and networking desired
  • P&L management experience
  • Capital budget experience
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of budget administration, practices, and accounting
  • Relevant experience in dealing with public relations and human resource issues
  • Ability to comprehend new technologies quickly
  • Must possess strong communications skills, both verbal and written
  • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft MS-Office software suite with particular emphasis on Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Solid management skills are a must including the ability to deal with change, stress, and conflict and coaching and mentoring of subordinates
  • Ability to work long hours as required and deal well with stress
  • Strong team player with the ability to persuade, influence and negotiate partnerships with internal and external customers
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documentation and procedures
  • Must be able to collect, manipulate, and distribute data for effective root cause analysis
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects as well as leading departmental initiatives
