 General Description of Position:

To provide the highest level of network reliability through on-time Installation & Repair of the HFC, Copper and Fiber plants.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all field operations in assigned markets (I&R, CMD, Drop buries, etc.)
  • Directly responsible for all assigned MDU and Special Projects in the Region.
  • Directs the repair of outside plant facilities.
  • Performs quality control assessment of all plant types.
  • Performs skills assessment of all direct reports.
  • Initiates and directs plans to motivate workers to achieve goals, strive for maximum efficiency and to go beyond what is expected.
  • Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, disciplinary measures, pay increases, etc.
  • Responsible for timely performance evaluation of employees based upon measurable objective criteria.
  • Responsible for training and development of all employees.
  • Communicates with other departments to ensure trouble and service orders are worked in a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of the department and the Company.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years telecommunications or related experience and 2+ years supervisory experience in related field
  • Experience in the I&R and Cable Maintenance/Field Operations
  • P&L management and capital budget experience is a plus
  • Good analytical, organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of budget administration, practices, and accounting
  • Relevant experience in dealing with public relations and human resource issues
  • Ability to comprehend new technologies quickly
  • Must possess strong communications skills, both verbal and written
  • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft MS-Office software suite with emphasis on Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work long hours as required and deal well with stress
  • Strong team player with the ability to persuade, influence and negotiate partnerships with internal and external customers
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documentation and procedures
  • Must be able to collect, manipulate, and distribute data for effective root cause analysis
