General Description of Position:

The Residential Sales Leader is responsible for directing all facets of residential sales functions in the assigned markets, including direct oversight of sales team members. Duties include managing relationships with owners and developers, governmental agencies, community leaders/influencers, and HOA/POA boards. In addition, manage existing relationships to produce additional revenue opportunities and seek out new revenue opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accomplishes company objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results in measurements, allocating resources, reviewing progress, making mid-course corrections.
  • Monitors programs and procedures to ensure optimal performance. Proactively identify patterns and trends to take advantage of opportunities and mitigate risk quickly.
  • Develops and implements procedures pertinent to effective and efficient operation. Identify new areas to extend network and business case as needed. Seek new business with new and existing customers.
  • Proactively and effectively communicates the benefits of Hargray's products and services, maintaining primary relationships with identified community leaders.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with Property and Home Owner Associations (POA's & HOA's). Develop, current plans, and negotiate contracts for providing telecommunications services to Community Network Advantage accounts and potential overbuild areas. Develop sales and marketing strategy for dealing with new developments and market areas ready for copper overbuilds.
  • Responsible for tracking, monitor and analyze service penetration levels for assigned markets; develop action plans where needed.
  • Work closely with civic organizations, and represent Hargray at local functions. Host community events with properties under Exclusive Marketing Agreements (EMAs) and market-wide pop-up events. Perform public relations and liaison functions with homebuilder's associations, multi-family housing groups, and county/city building agencies.
  • Conduct post-install surveys to end-users to ensure a favorable customer experience. Take appropriate action with internal team members as deemed necessary for any less than favorable experiences. Understands and takes action on the customer needs and develops cross-departmental action plans to address them.
  • Serve as a Hargray liaison for community GM/Property Managers and residents, working proactively to maintain and improve Hargray's relationships and standing within the community.
  • Reviews assigned territory to ensure all communities are contacted on a defined, periodic basis.
  • Develops and implements strategies to improve company performance in sales and service opportunities. Communicates company and departmental performance, policy, and all other information to direct reports, employees, and management.
  • Develop and implement programs and strategies designed to improve upon and support the Company image and reputation with property owners in the interest of building long-term business relationships.
  • Completes all project-related tasks as assigned by the General Manager
  • Demonstrates a practical and efficient working knowledge of all of the products and services offered by Hargray.
  • Works in conjunction with Engineering teams to determine service capabilities and requirements for new-build, overbuild edge-out opportunities.  Begins and completes job implementation packages for the full range of products to be marketed.
  • Sets and meets performance standards to meet the customer service and sales goals of the company. Trains and coaches employees to achieve high performance. Measures employee performance against goals, including sales, funnel analysis and makes all appropriate employment decisions. Creates strategies to ensure employee engagement and optimize employee performance.
  • Coordinates service order activity associated with all job implementation packages and other details related to implementation and service for all products marketed by the Sales Department. Ensure orders are entered into the CRM in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicates with other departments as needed to facilitate a smooth service installation of products sold; follows up with new residents to welcome them to the community and ensure the customer is delighted.
  • Assists management and employees with customer situations that require special handling. Responds to customer inquiries and problem-solving professionally and effectively. Acts as a resource in resolving customer issues brought to the department through knowledge of company products, services, policies, and strong skills in negotiating.
  • Communicates independently, effectively, clearly, and professionally with customers, employees, supervisors, and managers to establish and maintain considerate and cooperative relationships.  Handles customer requests and communications by phone, E-mail, fax, mail, and face to face.
  • Keeps abreast of current industry trends and practices related to customer service and makes appropriate recommendations to the General Manager.
  • Will be leading and supporting a team of sales and customer service reps. Provides coherent, factual feedback to company management regarding service levels, customer concerns, and employee performance.
  • Assists the marketing team in developing advertising and product information, such as sales collateral material and DVD presentations.
  • Respond to competitive threats and work with Legal on all violations of exclusive marketing agreements. Adhere to industry-specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.


Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • 7 or more years of sales experience with management experience.
  • Preferably five or more years working in the telecommunications industry.
  • This role requires listening to and interpret the needs of the customers.
  • Preferably some experience with managing multiple projects at one time.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong relationship building sales skills and business acumen required, including responsiveness and technical understanding of customers' present and future needs.
