General Description of Position:

Are you looking for a career as an analyst in IT application engineering field where you will be supporting testing efforts, develop test plans, test cases, test scripts and test reports on multiple work efforts of varying sizes?

 

Responsible for the planning, design, and execution of an application and system testing on simple to complex implementations.  Analyst’s responsibilities include all components related to application testing (test planning, test script creation, test execution, test validations, and test results documentation and review). You will also identify and document software defects when performing test case execution in a fast-paced, fluid and changing environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Develops test plans, test cases, test scripts and test reports on multiple work efforts of varying sizes
  • Supports all types of testing efforts (including but not limited to functional, system integration, regression, etc.) determined necessary for assigned work efforts
  • Reviews functional and technical requirement documents to ensure requirements are testable
  • Performs testing on various software and telecom systems
  • Validates that user expectations are achieved during the testing process
  • Documents and reports defects for the work efforts being tested
  • Identifies and communicates business risks relative to testing and implementation for evaluation
  • Works with business analysts and project managers to determine the most effective testing and inspection strategy for work efforts of varying complexity and size
  • Ensures that defects uncovered in the test are recorded, summarized and utilized in post reviews in an effort to improve the development and test processes
  • Provides detail status reporting on work efforts (includes test case numbers, percentages complete, etc.)

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1-4 years Quality Control experience in a testing role
  • Working knowledge of software testing methodologies
  • Working knowledge of full lifecycle development, including the ability to perform requirements tracing and validations during Quality Control testing
  • Familiarity with all aspects of Quality Control testing of software, including unit, system integration, functional, and regression testing  
  • Experience preferred in performance Quality Control Testing using industry standard enterprise testing tools (such as HP, Borland, JIRA or Compuware)
  • Strong skills in writing SQL for data validation (mainly Oracle/SQL)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite:  Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
  • Telecom experience preferred
  • Experience working with on the job and remote workers.
