OSP Permit Coordinator – Hargray Fiber

The OSP Permit Coordinator is responsible for managing all necessary construction related permits for various telecom projects. Will work with the engineering team and vendors such as state departments of transportation, railroads, and right-of-way owners to resolve any conflicts that arise during permitting and shall track multiple, concurrent permit submittals across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate for this role will be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, will have the ability to display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities: Including but not limited to the following.

  • Uses traffic control plan and excavation permit cable facilities using appropriate tools such as GIS drafting, preparation and acquisition of necessary permits for OSP facilities.
  • Convert and manipulate CAD drawing into permit drawings for various jurisdictions.
  • Schedules, submits and track permits to meet critical engineering design due dates.
  • Performs daily assigned tasks as related to specific functions that may include any combination of drawings, review of or the creation or update of permits.
  • General clerical duties, tasks, or special projects as required or assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of the department and the Company.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Only candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be considered.

  • High School graduate.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working with GDOT, FDOT, and Railroad permitting as well as all right-of-way Owners within various counties.
  • Must have excellent inter-personal communication skills, experience working with permitting agencies and experience with OSP telecom builds.
  • Must be familiar with the process of acquiring Excavation & Traffic Control permits.
  • Excellent organization, time management and follow up skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • High-level problem analysis and problem resolution skills.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Proficient use of computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient use of CAD, Pole Attachment applications.
