The Marketing Specialist is responsible for the management and coordination of all community events and campaigns at Hargray. This position develops and delivers messaging in coordination with internal and external contacts to advance sponsorship/trade/business arrangements and relationships with businesses and communities to advance Hargray in all markets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development of marketing campaigns for both business and residential markets.
  • Draft communications to internal and external contacts before, during, and after events and company milestones.
  • Draft press releases and pitches to media contacts that yield successful pick up and media exposure, ensures this content is maximized via appropriate channels (website, social media, internal communication, etc.).
  • Draft agency briefs to efficiently and effectively develop marketing material, remains accountable for revisions with stakeholder input until completion.
  • Assist in the development of marketing plans for new projects and leads implementation of marketing plans for new and existing markets.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and updates to all HF portions of the website including market pages and landing pages.
  • Contribute to and approve social media content.
  • Assist in the development of outbound emails to generate sales demand for all markets.
  • Support special events to include conferences, golf tournaments, Chamber of Commerce activities, festivals, corporate events, etc.
  • Analyze and track the results of marketing tactics and makes recommendations based on results.
  • Process all marketing invoices working closely with the marketing coordinator and accounting department to ensure accuracy.
  • Create and maintain budget spending for special projects.
  • Performs all other duties as required.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 3 years’ Marketing related experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Adobe; CRM; etc.
  • Knowledge of communication and media including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, etc.
  • Writing skills – must be able to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Analytical skills – must be able to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems.
  • Reasoning ability – must be able to combine pieces of information to form general rules or apply general rules to produce answers that makes sense.
  • Attention to detail as it relates to being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
