General Description of Position:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for engaging business partners in support of division management in all areas impacting capital project monitoring, analysis, tracking and reporting, including all related accounting, finance, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and monitor metrics for capital project tracking.
  • Collect and organize project cost estimates, validating completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Track actual vs. planned project spend for all materials, external and internal labor; understanding the projects well enough to be able to articulate variance reasons.
  • Monitor actual results, including vendor invoices to ensure proper coding and timing in recording costs, according to GAAP and company policies.
  • Provide project accrual information for related costs incurred but not recorded.
  • Support all budgeting and forecasting cycles, bringing together the business need and financial view.
  • Maintain PxQ model keeping current for management review and use.
  • Interact with all levels of the organization in the completion of duties.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, etc.) preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in an accounting, finance, or related role.
  • Telecom industry experience desirable.
  • Superior analytical skills, including the ability to organize data to uncover relevant trends, issues, outliers, and data patterns.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot tables and V-lookup) Macros are a plus. Proficient in MS Office product suite.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Goal-oriented self-starter who exhibits good judgment and makes sound and timely decisions.
  • Able to perform in a fluid environment, embracing change, but also initiating and driving improvements.
  • Comfortable to take a leadership role in a team setting.
