Hargray is currently seeking a motivated intern in the Finance / Accounting major, who is ready to apply knowledge of financial constructs and principles to an authentic real-world experience. The intern will assist in wide range of duties including developing a project approach, data gathering and organization, data analysis, creation and distribution of output, and related tasks.


The selected intern will participate in a complex analytical project on Hargray’s Cost Accounting Processes and how to improve payment transaction efficiency.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with multiple systems to build a recurring process for reconciling the cost of goods sold account
  • Create project closure packets in support of our ongoing JSI audit
  • Research and update depreciation rates for our CLEC asset accounts using IRS standards
  • Work with inventory accountant to create a repeatable process to catch up the warehouse disposals
  • Create open project status templates for project owners tracking notifications and responses


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Basic to intermediate level of Excel and MS Office tools
  • Must have successfully completed their second full year of college level classes i.e. Intermediate Accounting or currently enrolled in Cost Accounting  



  • Practical experience with a wide variety of accounting activities

Time Preference: Hrs: 10-15 hours per week during the Semester Spring 2020; preferably 30-40 hours per week during Summer 2020

Types of Internship: For Credit or Non-Credit during Spring or Summer

Class Standing Desired: College Senior OR College Junior OR Recent Graduates

Majors Desired - Business Administration - Accounting concentration

GPA Requirements: Desired minimum GPA of 3.0
