Job Description

Performs all duties involving translation tables to include those for call routing and new market provisioning. Ensure efficient use of table data-fill and routing practices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the provisioning and maintenance of:
    • NPA-NXX’s development and routing
    • Feature translations, including RES and AIN functions
    • Rate center/local call area builds as well as restrictions of codes services
    • Trunks, including Inter-office, Toll, Access tandem, PRI/SIP/SIPPBX and service circuits
    • LNP and reverse translations
    • ACD/UCD
    • Meridian Digital Centrex groups
    • SP2K – SS& point codes, route sets and global title on C20
    • SST – Remote SIP server build and modifications
    • MS2030 and GMS for announcements, Music on hold
    • Line/trunk treatment control
    • E911 routing
  • Review logs and error messages relating to translation or network issues
  • Database cleanup and/or validations as required
  • Maintains all documentation and generates requested reports dealing call and feature translations
  • Submits personal time report, gas tickets, material charge outs, as well as other clerical forms or other required paperwork
  • Maintains all Central Office work areas in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Refers employee and customer complaints and problems to supervisor
  • Provides training and assistance for new employees; participates in cross training
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of department


Job Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • Working knowledge of computers and communication hardware/software.
  • 10 + years’ experience Nortel DMS 100/200/C20 switching translations experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Voice over IP, soft switches, and IAD’s.
  • Reads, understands, interprets, and applies written instructions, such as the LERG and NANPA documentation.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a history of safe driving record.
  • Must be able to work various schedules extended hours.
